Melbourne Founders Room
A monthly gathering for founders of funded startups.
This is a private forum for founders who have already raised and are actively building. It's a trusted space for honest conversation, shared experience, and compounding relationships - no pitching, selling, or performative networking.
What it is
Melbourne Founders Room is a free, monthly, in-person gathering for:
- Founders of funded startups - usually seed and beyond
- Exited founders building again
This is intentionally small and curated. Everyone attends as a peer, with lived experience of raising capital and striving to build a great company.
No panels, no demos, and no sponsors in the room.
What it isn't
This isn't a general startup meetup - it's a working room for founders who have already raised.
- Not a public meetup
- Not a networking event
- Not a pitch night
- Not a space for selling services
This is a real startup room for founders who already know the basics, and who talk honestly about what actually happens after that.
How it works
This is an early 2026 experiment to see if there's value here.
We meet once a month.
Anyone can request an invite, but attendance is vetted and capped to ensure the room remains founder-only, focused, and peer-level.
Each gathering includes:
- Unstructured, peer-level conversation
- Clear norms around confidentiality and respect
- A couple of free drinks - if we found a sponsor that month
Room norms
- Founders of funded startups only
- No pitching or selling in the room
- Conversations operate under Chatham House Rules
The goal isn't scale or visibility, it's quality, trust, and usefulness.
